China in the 40-es. And advertisement artists did not stint their fantasy.
They described him with sledgehammers instead of fists, symbolizing
his punching power.

And, going somewhere with his son, he asked him o put on a short-sleeved
shirt.
The victories over the professionals of Honolulu, Tokyo, the Philippins
and other titled champions of the professional ring opened him the way
to fighting for China title in boxing. And he won it in the champion
of the sensational match with the champion of Portugal.
The 20 years-old owner of Chinese champion silver belt was really a
romantic. He was lured by the Soviet distance! He easily rap up on the
board the fated sea-liner "Ilyinch". And three years later
he marked his triumphal procession along the Soviet ring by the golden
medal of the champion of the USSR.
There were many terrible ordeals in his life list: he was subjected
to torture by the Japanese Okhranka; and he was "knocked-out"
at the door of his Shanghai flat; and he was exhausted by starvation
and loneless in the Ural town Zlatoust; and it was a short meanness
from the side of the Sovet sport bosses, as well. For his life firmness
he considered himself to be under an obligation to the Russian aristocrat;
for his on guard which the Soviet coach were breaking but could not
do it-to the Chinese Teacher. He saw God's Providence in the power of
his punch .And the thought of the book, in which he would be able to
leave his view to the culture of boxing to the mankind, followed him
till his death.
